Utility Division Worker

Hiring Range: $20.82 - $23.43 hourly

Chanhassen's Utility Division is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure that supports the City's water and sewer systems. This position focuses on locating and marking underground water and sewer utilities to ensure the safety of excavation activities and to protect critical City infrastructure. Job duties may include responding to utility locate requests, using electronic locating equipment and mapping tools, documenting asset locations, and assisting with updates to utility records. The position may also support general utility operations such as hydrant maintenance, site upkeep, and other related field tasks as needed. The City of Chanhassen will provide a $100 uniform allowance to be used toward the purchase of safety footwear.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license.
• Must be able to perform general labor including frequently lifting and/or moving up to 75 lbs. and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 lbs.
• Work may routinely require the employee to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
