Volunteers mentor high school and college filmmakers, support live-streamed cultural events, workshops, studio tours, and interviews, and help projects reach film festivals and awards. This is a hands-on way to support global storytelling, cultural expression, and creative communities across San Diego, including partners like the WorldBeat Cultural Center. Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Key Responsibilities: Support mentorship, film reviews, editing, color grading, live streaming, community event coverage, and interviews with community leaders and notable figures. Projects range from youth-led films to public cultural events. Skills & Qualifications San Diego‑based filmmaker or videographer Must have camera operation or editing experience. Familiarity with Premiere, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve. Basic cinematography knowledge. Ability to collaborate on creative teams. Reliable transportation within San Diego. Desired Skills & Experience Live streaming experience. Color grading. Audio or music composition. Scriptwriting. Documentary or interview work. Multi-camera setups. Volunteers need to be able to bend, lift up to 20 lbs, and stand for the duration of their shifts. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations and the space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.
