Job Description

Silk Route Hospitality is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Multi-Unit Bar Operations Manager to oversee bar operations across multiple restaurant locations. This role is responsible for building consistency, enforcing standards, and developing strong on-site leadership to ensure each bar operates at a high level every day.

This is a field-driven role requiring regular site visits, strong coaching ability, and a systems-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Unit Operations Oversight

  • Oversee bar operations across three locations through structured site visits and operational checklists
  • Review and approve purchase orders, schedules, and ordering (liquor, produce, and supplies)
  • Conduct weekly meetings with Head Bartenders to review performance, staffing, and operational needs
  • Identify and resolve issues early, including staffing gaps, prep failures, low inventory, and execution inconsistencies

Systems & Workflow Development

  • Build and enforce consistent workflows across all locations
  • Standardize bar operations including prep, setup, service, and closing procedures
  • Establish clear prep systems (juicing, cordials, batching schedules)
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are completed accurately and on time
  • Monitor role clarity and performance of bartenders and lead bartenders

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, manage, and coach Head Bartenders as on-site operators
  • Set clear expectations around standards, cleanliness, speed, and guest interaction
  • Train Head Bartenders to effectively train and develop their teams
  • Hold leaders accountable through weekly priorities and structured follow-up

Training & Standards

  • Own bartender onboarding and ongoing training across all locations
  • Maintain and enforce standards for recipes, builds, garnishes, glassware, and batching
  • Develop and implement SOPs (opening/closing, side work, prep lists, pars, labeling/FIFO)
  • Lead menu rollouts including training materials, tastings, and execution standards

Inventory, Ordering & Cost Control

  • Manage ordering systems and maintain accurate par levels
  • Verify receiving processes including invoices, pricing, and product accuracy
  • Oversee weekly inventory counts and investigate variances
  • Reduce waste through portion control, batching discipline, and comp/spill tracking

Beverage Program Support

  • Partner with Beverage Director on cocktail development and implementation
  • Ensure new menu items are operationally executable across all locations
  • Support pricing strategy, batching systems, and rollout plans
  • Use sales data and guest feedback to recommend improvements

Guest Experience & Service Standards

  • Ensure consistent hospitality, pacing, and service quality across all bars
  • Support teams in handling guest issues and service recovery effectively
  • Maintain strong “bar presence” standards: cleanliness, organization, urgency, and energy

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Enforce responsible alcohol service and ID policies
  • Maintain health code and sanitation standards at all times
  • Support cash handling procedures and loss prevention practices

What Success Looks Like

  • All bars operate with consistent standards, systems, and execution
  • Head Bartenders function as strong leaders and trainers
  • Inventory is accurate, controlled, and explainable
  • Prep and cleanliness are consistent regardless of staff on duty
  • Daily operational issues are resolved without escalation

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing bar operations across multiple locations
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Highly organized with a systems-driven mindset
  • Deep understanding of inventory, cost control, and purchasing
  • Ability to build and enforce SOPs and operational standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Drivers License is required.

Non-Negotiables

  • Strong trainer and systems builder
  • Traveling between locations regularly
  • Cost-aware with a solid understanding of inventory, variance, and waste

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary (based on experience)
  • Opportunities for growth within Silk Route Hospitality
  • Dynamic, team-driven work environment
  • PTO
  • Health Insurance
