Job Title: Demo Construction Laborer in Morgantown WV!
Job Summary:
The Demo Construction Laborer is responsible for performing demolition and site preparation tasks within retail or commercial store environments. This role involves removing fixtures, flooring, walls, shelving, and other structures to prepare the space for renovation or new installations. The ideal candidate follows safety procedures, works efficiently, and maintains a clean and organized job site while minimizing disruption to store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform demolition of interior store components including shelving, counters, displays, flooring, drywall, and fixtures
Use hand tools and power tools to safely dismantle structures and materials
Remove debris and dispose of materials according to safety and environmental guidelines
Assist with site preparation for construction crews, including clearing and cleaning work areas
Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations, including proper use of PPE
Work around active store environments while maintaining awareness of customers and staff
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed
Assist skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) during remodel projects
Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace throughout the project
Requirements:
Previous construction or demolition experience preferred
Ability to use basic hand and power tools
Strong understanding of workplace safety practices
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights or off-hours (common in retail remodels)
Skills:
Demolition and site cleanup
Power and hand tool operation
Material handling and debris removal
Safety compliance (OSHA standards)
Teamwork and communication
Time management and efficiency
Adaptability in active work environments
Work Environment:
Indoor retail or commercial store settings
May involve working overnight shifts to avoid customer disruption
Exposure to dust, noise, and construction materials
