The Opportunity

As Chief Building Engineer, you’ll report directly to senior facilities leadership and act as a technical authority and team leader, ensuring all building systems operate at peak performance.

This is the ideal role for someone who is technically strong, leadership-ready, and looking to step up without moving away from hands-on engineering.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and support the HVAC function, bringing expert-level system knowledge
• Oversee and optimise BMS and VRF systems (Daikin experience a plus)
• Drive preventative maintenance programs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems
• Manage vendor relationships, including bids, proposals, and work orders
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain best-in-class property standards
• Respond to emergency and after-hours issues when required
• Use modern platforms to manage work orders and campus-wide projects

What We’re Looking For

• Vocational, trade, or degree-level qualification in a relevant field
• Experience in commercial properties, ideally high-end environments (Class A offices, hotels, hospitals, etc.)
• A mid-career professional ready for progression—not entry-level, not fully senior
• Strong technical depth across building systems (more than generalist knowledge)
• A team-first mindset with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate
• Comfortable with technology and facilities management systems
• Flexible and dependable, with willingness to be on-call when needed
